1. The Italian Embassy informed us August 26 that they 
received a dipnote from the Egyptian MFA confirming that the 
Egyptian Ministry of Interior "agrees in principle" to send 
10 officers to the COEPSU course beginning September 22, and 
listing the officers' names.  Italian Emboff told us August 
26 that the Egyptian Interior Minister still needs to sign a 
decree authorizing these officers' participation.  Italian 
emboff said he expects the Egyptian officers to be able to 
participate in the September course. 
 
2. Egyptian officers' names and titles are as follows:
